  • Water
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (optional)

  • Place the onion, carrots and celery in the bottom of the crockpot
  • Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towel, place on top of vegetables in crockpot
  • *You can also remove the organ meats from the pouch and place those in crockpot as well
  • Stuff the cavity of the chicken with garlic and fresh herbs (you can also place the herbs and garlic outside of the chicken)
  • Salt and pepper the chicken
  • Pour enough water to fill the slow cooker to about 1 inch below the top
  • *Optional: add 1 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar to pull the minerals out of the chicken bones
  • Set the crock pot to cook for 8 hours on low.

I make the broth in the evening so that it's finished cooking when I wake up in the morning but you can also start it in the morning to have it ready by dinner time as well!
